HUTCHISON 3 UK
Hutchison Whampoa’s new mobile operator, 3, launched its service in the UK in 2003, and quickly established a reputation for leading edge technology and services for its customers.

  • Delivery of cost savings in excess of £1m per year for Hutchison 3G in the UK against budget for 2 consecutive years, through process controls and improvements as well as strategic supplier negotiations on costs, at a time of very rapid growth.
  • Delivery of 3 UK’s WMS and retail replenishment systems, integrating their Oracle ERP with Dimensions (as an initial interim solution) and then progressing to Red Prairie as the longer term WMS.
  • Achievement of full integration between these systems, as well as the CRM order management system (Peoplesoft) and the bespoke business order management system, Sprint.

186k, the start-up venture and subsidiary of the Lattice Group (Transco), was launched to deliver a state-of-the-art UK national Internet Protocol network alongside a stand alone operating business. Lattice plc & National Grid merged in 2002 under National Grid plc.

  • Delivery of a ‘mission critical’ £530m start up venture, which successfully launched a Telecoms / IP Network within 12 months and returned £51m of savings from the £530m investment to the shareholder.
